Loyola University Chicago is searching for a Web Designer for the University Marketing & Communications Department. This position serves as a Web designer, responsible for implementing consistent, unified design template and site architecture to ensure optimum user interface. Reporting to the University Web Content Manager, this position collaborates with ITS and MCS Web team to carry-out NewWeb plan to maintain and evolve the Loyola Website by leading/providing web support. Must be marketing savvy with solid knowledge of and experience with sound design fundamentals and Web technology/architecture to fulfill objectives for timely, targeted and effective Web design; appropriately meet user needs; adhere to University standards; identify and implement new/enhanced Web/online information delivery; and support University/client strategies for student recruitment, fundraising and other key business goals through the use of the Web and other online technologies.

 

Requirements & Qualifications Needed:

Minimum 5 years experience in design/marketing environment with a significant focus on Web projects to meet strategic business/marketing goals, especially for multiple sites across a large, complex organization. 2+ years experience in Web programming. Hands-on experience with common Web and Website development tools (e.g., Dreamweaver, Macromedia MX Suite, etc.) Portal-based Web experience highly desirable. Project management experience in designing/redesigning Websites, with demonstrated success in integrating marketing, business principles. Must meet deadlines; have excellent verbal/written abilities and client-service skills.
