Feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola Mass & Picnic

Attention Faculty, Staff and Retirees, Service Day RSVPs are NOW Open for the 2011 project.

On Friday, July 29, 2011 the University will celebrate the feast day of Saint Ignatius of Loyola with a Mass held in the Madonna della Strada Chapel at 11 a.m. and our annual picnic on the Simpson parking lot on the Lake Shore Campus, at 12:15 p.m. As always, there will be food, games, and activities for all ages.

Also, if you would like to sing in the choir for the feast of St. Ignatius Mass on Friday, July 29th, please contact Steven Betancourt at sbetancourt@luc.edu. Rehearsal begins at 10:00 AM on July 29th in the MDS Chapel.   

On Tuesday July 26, 2011, Loyola and Chicago Cares will partner together and take on a number of painting and beautification projects at Cesar E. Chavez Multicultural Center, located at 4747 S. Marshfield, in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago.   We are looking for a minimum of 80 faculty, staff and retiree volunteers to staff this project.  To volunteer and obtain additional information, complete our Service Day RSVP form. 

Service Day registration deadline is July 22, 2011.

8:30 Shuttle departs the WTC and LSC for Service Site
9am Volunteers Arrive
9:30am Service Day Begins
2pm Wrap Up and Evaluation
3pm Shuttle bus departs for WTC and LSC

10:30 am  Shuttle departs the WTC for the LSC to Mass & picnic
11 am Mass in Madonna della Strada Chapel
12:15 pm Picnic begins (under the tent) on the Simpson parking lot
1 pm Let the games begin!
2:30 pm Shuttle bus departs the LSC & returns to the WTC
