Interdisciplinary Honors Program

Living and Learning Community

  • First year Honors students live in Campion Hall where they build a strong community, and enjoy intellectual and social interaction.
  • All honors students are automatically members of the Honors Student Association. As a recognized student organization, the HSA plans social and service activities. HSA is eligible to apply for student activity funds.
  • Faculty organize lectures, study groups and cultural events at Chicago's cultural institutions, such as the Art Institute, the Chicago Opera Theatre, the Lyric Opera, the Writer's Theater and the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.
  • Faculty plan social events to foster the intellectual community.
  • Students elect officers and representatives to the Honors Council. Any member of the Honors Program in good standing (whose cumulative G.P.A. is 3.3 or higher) may run for office.
