Installing GroupWise on Androids
1. While viewing your Android device’s home screen, tap the Applications icon to view all installed applications.
2. Find and select the "Email" application.
3. If you have not setup an email account on your Android Device before, you will be prompted to enter an email address and password. If you have an existing email account, click on the menu button on the front of your android device, and select, "Add Account".
3.1. Enter your Loyola email address in the first field and your password into the second field.
3.2. If you have forgotten your password, please contact the ITS HelpDesk at (773) 508-4487.
3.3. After filling in both fields, select the "Manual Setup" button.
4. The next screen will prompt you to verify the type of email account you are trying to setup. Select the "IMAP account" button.
5. We will not need to configure our email account’s incoming settings:
5.1. Enter the username you use for your Groupwise and LOCUS account.
5.2. Enter the password you use to access these accounts.
5.3. Enter "imaps.luc.edu" in the IMAP server field.
5.4. Enter "993" in the port field
5.5. Select "SSL (Accept all certificates)" when prompted for a security type.
5.6. When finished, select the "Next" button.
6. Next, you will be prompted to configure your email account’s outgoing settings:
6.1. Enter "mail.luc.edu" in the SMTP server field.
6.2. Enter "25" in the port field.
6.3. Select "None" when prompted for a security type.
6.4. Uncheck the box "Require Sign-in" box.
6.5. When finished, select the "Next" button.
7. The setup process will complete by asking how often your device should check for new messages. Please take note that this process may consume cellular data. Make sure that you have an unlimited data plan before selecting a short interval. Select the "Next" button when you have specified an appropriate interval.
8. Finally, a screen will prompt you to name your e-mail account to distinguish it from other e-mail accounts on your device. The second on this screen will prompt you to enter your full name, which will appear on all outgoing mail. When you are finished, select the "Done" button.
Note: In order to send email with your GroupWise, you will need to be connected to Loyola’s wireless network. If you are experiencing any connectivity issues, please contact the ITS HelpDesk.
