Externships
With the many health care resources in the Chicago area, students are afforded an exciting opportunity to work with experts in the industry through Loyola's prestigious externship program in which students are awarded course credit in lieu of a salary. Externships are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The organizations where we've placed students in the past are listed below. Please click on the site you're interested in to learn more about them or download our externship guide here.
If you would like to be considered for an externship, please send an email to Megan Bess, Assistant Director of the Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy, at mbess@luc.edu with your first three site preferences, the number of credit hours you wish to receive, and the semester in which you wish to pursue the externship. J.D. students must have completed 51 credits hours to be eligible for an externship and must pick up a current semester externship packet from Dean Faught's office.
