The Pillar Society recognizes generous alumni and friends who make annual gifts of $1,000 or more to the College of Arts & Sciences. The name, the Pillar Society, comes from the four pillars of Jesuit leadership: self-awareness, ingenuity, love, and heroism. These pillars provide the foundation on which the college and Loyola University Chicago were built. The levels are named for the Jesuit deans of the college with the longest tenures:
