CCSE partners with NCEA to Present "A Cure for the Common Core"
The National Catholic Educational Assocation (NCEA) is presenting three workshops on making the Common Core standards more usable in the classroom during the month of July. During "A Cure for the Common Core" workshops, K-12 teachers will have opportunities to learn more about writing essential questions, questioning strategies, teaching vocabulary, text complexity, reading informational text, while integrating and weaving Catholic identity throughout these approaches.
Dr. Lorraine Ozar, CCSE Director, will be the keynote speaker at all three of these workshops to be held in Delray Beach, Florida, Palm Springs, California, and Indianapolis. Dr. Michelle Lia, CCSE Director of Professional Development and resident Common Core expert, will present sessions at each conference on strategies for teaching vocabulary, one of the most important focus shifts in the CCSS
