First Year Memory

Moving into my freshman dorm was a memorable experience.  My parents drove me up to Milwaukee from Nebraska and it was a whole new world.   Living on the tenth floor of a high rise dormitory in downtown Milwaukee was a big change from living in the house on a pasture where horses roamed.  After an initial culture shock from the loud evening sounds of the city, I was eventually able to sleep through the night.  I met my group of friends during the first week of school and remained close to them throughout my four years at Marquette.  Since then, we have stood up in each other’s weddings, vacationed together and shared life’s ups and downs.  I found lifelong friends during my freshmen year.  I encourage all new students to form friendships, explore the city and make the most of their college experience because in the blink of an eye, it will be over!
