About

Originally from Green Bay, WI, Amy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (UWEC), and her Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout (UW-Stout).  Upon completing her Master’s degree Amy left the Midwest for New York state where she was a First Year Experience Hall Director at SUNY Oneonta for a year, followed by working as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor for New Jersey City University in Jersey City, NJ for 2.5 years.  Her east coast journey continued from there in Miami, FL where she was an academic advisor for 4 years with Florida International University.  Having worked in higher education for 8 years, Amy has found her true calling, and is passionate about helping students reach their full academic and personal potential. In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports (GO CUBBIES! & GO PACK GO!), listening to music, and pretending she’s a long distance runner.

First Year Memory:

One of the biggest lessons I learned in life happened during my first semester at UWEC.  Within weeks of arriving on campus my boyfriend of 3 years and I broke up.  I was crushed!!  On the floor of my residence hall I kept running into one girl in particular, but being shy and lost in my own thoughts, I never said hello, until one day she approached me and asked how I was doing.  We found out that we lived only 30 miles from one another back home, and that we had a lot in common.  Fast forward 18 years and she’s my best friend in the world.  Never be afraid to open up and say hi to someone, even if you have a lot going on in your life; you may be missing out on an amazing friendship!
