First Year Memory:
One of the biggest lessons I learned in life happened during my first semester at UWEC. Within weeks of arriving on campus my boyfriend of 3 years and I broke up. I was crushed!! On the floor of my residence hall I kept running into one girl in particular, but being shy and lost in my own thoughts, I never said hello, until one day she approached me and asked how I was doing. We found out that we lived only 30 miles from one another back home, and that we had a lot in common. Fast forward 18 years and she’s my best friend in the world. Never be afraid to open up and say hi to someone, even if you have a lot going on in your life; you may be missing out on an amazing friendship!
