Graduate Social Work Dual Degree Program with Erikson Institute

Summer 2012

Though the Graduate School of Social Work, a M.S.W. and M.S. in Child Development  is offered with the Erikson Institute, an independent institution of higher learning in Chicago. This three-year program are financial aid eligible for Federal Stafford Loans, Graduate PLUS Loans and for alternative student loans.
 
Financial aid is coordinated between the two institutions, reflective of the student’s study, but a student may receive financial aid only at one institution in any given term.

Financial Aid Eligibility and Application Processing

Application Processing for Students beginning the program in Summer 2012:

Summer 2012

Eligibility is determined from the 2011-2012 FAFSA by ERIKSON INSTITUTE and can be packaged for $10,250 maximum between the subsidized Federal Stafford Loan (subsidized Federal Stafford Loan maximum = $4,250) and the unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan.  Graduate PLUS or alternative loans can be awarded to the remaining budget.

Fall 2012

Eligibility is determined from the 2012-2013 FAFSA by ERIKSON INSTITUTE and can be packaged for $10,250 maximum between the subsidized Federal Stafford Loan (subsidized Federal Stafford Loan maximum = $4,250) and the unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan.  Graduate PLUS or alternative loans can be awarded to the remaining budget.

Spring 2013

Eligibility is determined from the 2012-2013 FAFSA by ERIKSON INSTITUTE and can be packaged for $10,250 maximum between the subsidized Federal Stafford Loan (subsidized Federal Stafford Loan maximum = $4,250) and the unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan.  Graduate PLUS or alternative loans can be awarded to the remaining budget.

Loan Disbursement and Refunds

Loan funds are disbursed to Loyola University Chicago and applied by the Office of the Bursar to the student’s University account.  Students receive an email to outline the specifics of each disbursement.
 
If the funds are in excess of the charges, the remaining amount will be refunded by the Bursar to the student (electronically, if the student has a Direct Deposit profile established in Locus). The student may use the excess credit refund to make reimbursement for book purchases or to cover other educational expenses, as needed.
