Travis Proffitt joins the CEL as the Community Partnerships Coordinator with a strong passion for community development and connecting institutions of higher education to the good work of creating healthy homes and just neighborhoods. He is a 2008 graduate of the M.A. in Social Justice Program at Loyola Chicago and a 2004 graduate of Emory & Henry College, where he studied Public Policy & Community Service and Religion. Travis has been involved in service learning, civic engagement, and community development for nearly ten years and is excited to help the Loyola Chicago team build long-lasting and deep relationships with the University’s partners and friends.
A native of Appalachia, Travis brings to this work a deep commitment and love for communities and bringing people together. His interests outside of work include cooking, live music (especially folk and bluegrass), and traveling. Be sure to stop by the CEL and visit with Travis. He’d love to get to know you!
