CAS Community Engaged Academic Internship Grants

Made possible through College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), CAS undergraduates with demonstrated financial need in unpaid academic internships are eligible to apply for a $1,500 award. Fifteen awards will be available during the 2014-2015 school year, to be split among the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters. Students will spend a minimum of 100 hours per semester in their internship (approximately 10 hours per week) and some students may accumulate more hours depending on their placement, personal objectives, or as stipulated by their academic internship course. The unpaid academic internship must comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Who is eligible to apply?

To be eligible to participate, students must meet all of the following criteria:

Graduate and professional students, non-degree seeking students, and those working on a second bachelor’s degree are not eligible for these awards.

What kind of internships will be considered?

Internships reviewed and approved by the faculty instructor of the academic internship course and in accordance with academic internship criteria will be considered. Other considerations include:
