Who We Are
Learn. Serve. Experience. TRANSFORM.
Situated in the heart of Chicago, Loyola University Chicago provides students with a wealth of opportunity for "hands-on" learning. From community-based organizations located in nearby neighborhoods to non-profit organizations across the Chicagoland area, from government agencies and businesses downtown to organizations worldwide, Loyola students have ample opportunity to get actual experience in a real-world setting. Since 2007, the Center for Experiential Learning (CEL) has provided resources to students seeking such learning opportunities, connecting them to community agencies and professional organizations, while also supporting faculty instructors and mentors in the use of engaged pedagogies. Because of these efforts, Loyola students annually provide hundreds of thousands of hours of paid and volunteer service to the Chicagoland community as interns, service-learners, employees, and researchers.
