About

Teaching Philosophy:

Students in my writing courses receive instruction in creative and critical thinking. They learn to use writing for both discovery and communication. Reflective writing exercises help them to grasp or construct concepts while more formal assignments communicate the knowledge they have come to possess. Students learn that good writing usually results from extensive revision, often with input from peer-reviewers. They learn the value of collaboration. Students learn the conventions of academic writing by examining written and visual texts and writing about the values and beliefs those texts reflect.
