What inspired you to be an educator?
I think that I was inspired to become an educator by my mom, in part, since she taught kindergarten. However, my greater motivation was the joy I experienced when working with children and adolescents (now young adults) as I saw them question and learn.
What are the greatest educational needs in your country?
This is a difficult question because there are so many. Puerto Rico’s public school system suffers from limited resources, as well as the need for stronger leadership, improved bilingual education, and teacher training opportunities.
How has what you learned at Loyola positively impacted your work?
The skills and experience of my professors at Loyola influenced my perspective and enriched my understanding of educational systems. Plus, it inspired me!
