Teaching & Graduate Studies

LU-CHOICE seeks men and women who are enthusiastic about teaching elementary school and will bring many gifts to the elementary classroom. Participants serve as full-time, professional teachers in schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago.

As employees of the Archdiocese of Chicago, LU-CHOICE teachers are expected to observe Archdiocesan and school policies related to teachers. LU-CHOICE teachers receive health insurance through the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Graduates of the program will receive a Professional Educator License (PEL) with an elementary endorsement (grades K -5). An additional endorsement on the PEL is required to teach in grades 5-8. The program of study qualifies individuals for a middle-grade endorsement upon completion of an approved content area.

LU-CHOICE teachers also receive professional support from a field supervisor from Loyola University Chicago and LU-CHOICE staff.
