Catholic Principal Preparation Cohort

Candidates admitted to this program will earn a M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership and an Illinois Principal Endorsement through Loyola University’s Catholic Principal Preparation Cohort for Instructional Leadership.  This principal preparation program is designed for practicing Archdiocesan  of Chicago teachers holding a valid Illinois teaching license.

The M.Ed. program in Instructional Leadership is designed by Loyola’s School of Education and community partners to ensure all candidates acquire a solid foundation to be a principal who is an instructional leader.

Loyola University Chicago’s M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership features an intensive coaching model that supports the principal candidate through the entire program.  These coaches are former Catholic school leaders with a history of transforming Catholic schools. Candidates are assigned a coach during the first semester of the program.

The M.Ed. program features focused, in-depth coursework with coaching and immediate application for transforming Catholic schools to create increased student outcomes.  The M.Ed. course work is focused on providing a variety of experiences to ensure that the candidate has multiple opportunities to learn about diverse learners and diverse communities as well as school/student performance data and interpretation.
