Overview

The MEd in Teacher Leader and English as a Second Language (ESL) is a cohort-only program with two emphases leading to dual endorsements. The program will provide candidates with the knowledge and skills to effectively teach English Language Learners (ELLs) in multiple contexts (P-12) while also providing the candidates with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to effectively lead, supervise, and advocate in school and district-wide programs that serve English Language Learners and their families.

Completion of the entire master's degree program will meet the requirements for both Illinois Teacher Leader and English as a Second Language endorsements.

Cohorts

Cohorts are available at Loyola's Cuneo Mansion & Gardens in Vernon Hills.* This program is open to practicing teachers with an Illinois teaching license at a partner districtSpring 2016 CPELL flyer.
* One summer course is offered only at the Water Tower Campus or Rome, Italy.

The Administration & Supervision Program Distinguished Alumnus/a Award is given for outstanding contributions to the profession and the school. It is presented annually at the Loyola School of Education’s Fall Alumni Reception.
