Principal Preparation for Current Assistant Principals in Chicago Public Schools

The EdD in Administration & Supervision (CPS) is a principal preparation program intended for current assistant principals in Chicago Public Schools holding a general Administrative Endorsement. In addition to a doctorate, EdD candidates admitted to the program will earn an Illinois Superintendent's Endorsement.

The program offers a rigorous curriculum and field experience that have immediate application at the candidate's place of employment. In the first semester of the program, EdD candidates will be assigned a coach who will support the candidate over the four-year duration of the program while the candidate masters CPS principal competencies. Coaches selected to work with Loyola EdD candidates are former urban leaders with a history of transforming urban schools.
