"Recentering Loyola: Literature and Arts for Womyn of Color by Womyn of Color"
In 2014 LUCES published Recentering Loyola, the first publication of literature and arts journal for women of color by women of color. This annual publication is a multi-generational collaborative effort and is open to all self-identified women of color. This includes cis-sexual, cis-gender, transgender, and masculine of center (MOC) women of color regardless of gender presentation or sexual orientation.
The WOC journal:
- Provides a space for intentional sharing outside of the classroom and traditional community building arenas
- Encourages submissions from Undergraduates and Graduate Students, Alumni, Faculty, and Staff
- Includes articles, essays, poetry, art, and photography

LUCES wants to PUBLISH YOUR WORK! As you may know, this year Kaleidoscope will be accepting submissions through February 2nd! Your work can come in the form of a Scholarly essays, articles, poems, photography, print art or cover art. This year’s theme is “The Art of Defining”, in which we hope all submissions will connect to what being a WOC means to you personally. We would love for you to submit your piece for this year's issue!
