Printing In Our Labs

Please consider the environment before printing. Visit our LUClean and Sustainability page to learn how we can work together to reduce our printing footprint.

Printing from a Lab Workstation

We strongly encourage you to review the Print Preview to verify that documents and webpages will print as you expect and to verify there are no blank pages at the end.

From any application, navigate to the print menu and select Print. Depending on your location, you may be presented with multiple printers (Black & White and Color), select the applicable printer and then click OK. A prompt will appear asking for a Name and Password. This is specific to each individual print job and there are no restrictions on what must be entered here, as long as it it at least one character long.

Single-Sided and Duplex Printing

All standard Black & White printers are set to print double-sided (duplex) by default as this method reduces waste of paper and supplies. As this method removes the need for additional sheets, the cost for duplex printing is discounted when compared to printing two single-sided documents. If you wish to print single-sided (simplex), instead of the double-sided (duplex) default, be cognizant that this will result in a higher cost for the print job as described in the Costs section.
