About

Tom Holmes is a composer, pianist, dance accompanist and teacher. He has studied music at the University of Michigan as well as Ohio University where his teachers included William Bolcom, Evan Chambers and Mark Phillips. In early 2013, he performed his work Clockwork Flight live with the Oak Park-based Momenta Dance Company and in 2012 he composed music for the company’s original Mother Goose ballet. He recently finished a commission from Glorious Grands for an 8-pianos 32- hands work to be premiered in the fall of 2014. In August of 2013, he composed, arranged, and performed music for four nights of silent films at Pleasant Home in Oak Park including an original score to The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Tom is an avid improvisor and in addition to accompanying at Loyola University, he maintains an active professional career accompanying ballet and modern dance at various studios throughout Chicago.
