Insurance
At Loyola University Chicago we want to ensure that you and your guests are protected against any unexpected accidents/ events that may occur during your time on campus. In order to guarantee that your guests are safe we require all external groups to have general liability insurance for the duration of their event on campus.
Insurance Requirements
Overnight Conferences
- Workers Compensations Insurance (if applicable)in compliance with all statutory workers' compensation laws and Employer's Liability with a limit of not less than $500,000 each accident for bodily injury by accident and $500,000 each employee for bodily injury by disease.
- Commercial General Liability Insurance with a limit of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrance, $2,000,000 aggregate. Such insurance shall cover liability arising out of premises, operations, independent contractors, procduct- completed operations, personal and advertising injury, and contractual liability.
- Automobile Liabiity Insurance (including owned, non-ownded and hired) with a combined single limit of $1,000,000 for bodily injury including death and property damage liability.
- Umbrella/ Excess Liability Insurance is an amount not less than $3,000,000 per occurance and $3,000,000 in the aggregate excess of primary insurance and on a follow form basis.
Weddings and Day Meetings
The Wedding Party agrees to maintain, at its expense, for the period of the Conference, Commercial General Liability Insurance with a limit of not less than $1,000,0000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate. Such insurance shall cover liability arising out of premises, operations, independent contractors, products-completed operations, personal and advertising injury, and contractual liability.
The Organization will provide Loyola with certificate(s) of insurance on the date it submits the signed Agreement to Loyola. Certificate(s) of insurance furnished by the Organization shall name Loyola University of Chciago and its affiliates, including Mundelein College and Loyola Management Company, as additional insureds and shall contain a clause stating that such insurance will not be modified or terminated without the insurer(s) providing Loyola with thirty (30) days' prior written notice. All insurance shall be written by insurers licensed to do business in the State of Illinois and having a current minimum Best's rating of A-/BII.
