Student Neighbor Meet & Greet 2015 Hits Record Attendance

This year’s Student Neighbor Meet & Greet was perhaps the most successful yet, with nearly 400 neighbors and students in attendance of our annual Hawaiian-themed luau party. The event was fun-filled and family friendly, featuring a live DJ, face-painting, circus arts, hula-hoops, a caricature artist, and more.

The annual Student Neighbor Meet & Greet event is an excellent opportunity to for students and neighbors of our Loyola’s Lake Shore campus to join together in farewell celebration of summer at the start of the new academic year.

Members of the local business community tabled at our event’s resource fair, as well as representatives from the offices of local elected officials. Guests of our event won cupcake prizes from Maddie bird Bakery and Whole Foods, and sampled delicious international cuisine from a range of local restaurants and cafés. We are so grateful for the continued support from our neighbors and local businesses, and value this opportunity to create a sense of community with our off-campus students.

Loyola University Chicago strongly supports the continued growth and development of our home communities in Rogers Park and Edgewater, integrating students into the diverse neighborhood through the support of a thriving local business community, civic engagement activities, and assisting their transition to living off campus.
