Water Tower Campus Construction Update

Water Tower Campus Construction Update

December 5, 2013

Newcastle:
The Tower crane is currently being erected on site and will be inspected Thursday, December 5th. Through December, the crew will continue excavation and foundation work. This work also includes sewer, water, and utility installation within the building footprint. The underground work is expected to be completed by the end of January. Over the next several months, the crew will need to work on Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Power and Newcastle will continue to work with Loyola to prepare and send e-blasts to immediate neighbors and our Aldermen when weekend or evening work is expected.

The barricade and fence has been relocated to the south parking lane of Chestnut per the approved site logistics plan and permit. Foot traffic is diverted to the north side of Chestnut Street.

School of Business:
Loyola has completed the Board of Underground approval process. Demolition work at the 14-16 E. Pearson site continues. Masonry repairs for the 14-16 Pearson wall are also still on-going. After masonry repair work is complete, there will be a sequence of demolition for a portion of 14 E. Pearson through the end of December. In early January, equipment will begin mobilizing on the site.
