Selection of Student Speakers
Candidates interested in delivering the student Commencement speech should apply by Friday, March 28, 2014. The student should be a part of the graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 10, and the speech should be three to five minutes in length (approximately 700–850 words).
Ideally the speech should reflect on the experiences of graduates at a Jesuit university. Interested candidates should file a letter of intent, along with a draft of their speech, to Dr. Susan Ries in 220 Maguire Hall (undergraduates) or Jennifer Huntley in 204 Maguire Hall (graduate students). Please include a phone number and your LUC e-mail address where you may be contacted during the semester.
The Commencement Committee will notify the selected student in early April.
