Guests with Special Needs
The Commencement ceremonies take place inside an arena with stadium seating, and is reached via a long concourse. As a result, the walk from the parking structure to guest seating in the arena is long. Please plan accordingly.
Wheelchairs are not provided at the Commencement ceremonies and must be brought by the guests.
Wheelchairs are allowed inside all Commencement ceremonies and are highly recommended for guests who have trouble walking far distances.
There will be golf carts shuttling people to the ceremonies from the main parking structure and other campus locations.
Special Seating Needs
If you or a guest cannot climb more than 10 steps, there will be special reserved seats for you.
For the College of Arts and Sciences ceremonies as well as the Quinlan School of Business and Stritch School of Medicine ceremonies, students must select these tickets when they register to participate in Commencement. Guests to all other ceremonies may simply sit in the sections with reserved signs.
If you or a guest requires a sign-language interpreter, please let your graduate know so they can indicate this when they register to participate in the Commencement ceremonies.
If this is determined after your graduate has registered, please have them e-mail their dean’s office ASAP.
