Registration to Participate
All faculty and staff must RSVP for each ceremony they plan to attend ( this means that if you plan to attend two ceremonies, you must complete two separate registrations). This ensures that adequate seating is provided onstage and/or on the main floor.

Faculty wishing to participate in Commencement exercises must wear appropriate academic apparel. Anyone not wearing academic apparel will not be allowed to participate.
Faculty members who do not own their own academic apparel may purchase or rent it through Oak Hall Cap and Gown via the online registration, which is coming soon. The Provost's Office is pleased to provide rented apparel at no cost to members of the faculty.
Faculty who rent academic apparel will be able to pick it up on the 2nd floor of the Damen Student Center in the Schmidt Multipurpose Room beginning one hour prior to the ceremony they are registered for.
Instructions for Commencement Day
For all ceremonies in the Gentile Arena, faculty are asked to report to the the 2nd floor of the Damen Student Center at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony for processional line-up. For more specific instructions, see your dean’s office.
For ceremonies in Mundelein Auditorium, faculty are asked to report to the first floor of the Mundelein Center at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony for processional line-up. For more specific instructions, see your dean’s office.
Faculty who will be hooding doctoral candidates at any ceremony should RSVP prior to the ceremony. Because faculty members will be sitting in a place of honor, wearing academic apparel is required.
If you cannot attend the ceremony, please work with the student to select an appropriate representative to serve in your place.
