Kristen Okrzesik

Kristen Okrzesik is a second year graduate student, working toward a Masters level degree in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. Kristen attended DePaul University where she earned her Bachelor of the Arts degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English. After teaching high school for four years, Kristen decided to return to school full time to pursue her MSW with a focus on schools and mental health. Kristen began working with the Transitions Initiative Project in January 2014 as a research assistant and project manager. During her Maters program, Kristen has expressed interest in human rights, specifically for children and mentally ill populations.  After completing her Master's program, Kristen hopes to work in a school setting, focus on building leadership experience, and also serve as a child and family advocate.
