Michael Wilk

Michael Wilk is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in biology at Loyola University Chicago with plans to graduate next spring. He has worked as an emergency medical technician on the north side of Chicago and also volunteers with Loyola’s Emergency Medical Services program. This past year, he received the Ricci Scholarship enabling him to complete an independent research project while studying a semester each in Rome, Italy and Beijing, China. While abroad, he completed a comparative analysis of the development of urban emergency medicine. Through these experiences as well as living in ethnic minority villages in rural China, he has become more aware and interested in both domestic and international human rights issues.
