New Partnership: Loyola University and the Art Institute of Chicago
In a new partnership between Loyola University and the Art Institute of Chicago, this spring semester Loyola students, faculty, and staff will have membership access to the museum and its general and special exhibitions, lectures, and programs. Through the University Partner Program, this incredible benefit provides the Loyola community an opportunity to explore the riches of the Institute and to examine art and culture though the museum’s collections.
To launch this endeavor, we are inviting students, faculty, and guests to the Art Institute for Loyola University Night on Thursday, January 31 for an evening of tours and discoveries. The evening includes a tour at 5:30 p.m. of the European painting galleries, hosted by Jonathan Canning, Senior Curator for the Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA). During the tour Canning will highlight relationships between treasures at the Art Institute and LUMA. And at 6:00 p.m. Paula Wisotzki, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Fine and Performing Arts, will offer an introduction to the Art Institute's collection of twentieth century art. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the galleries and attend one of Chicago’s most well-known museums. For more information, please review the calendar listing.
