Title/s: Career Peer
Office #: Sullivan 255
Tell us about yourself:
I am a junior at Loyola University Chicago engaged in a five-year program to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Health Systems Management and a Masters in Business Administration.
Why did you apply to be a Career Peer?
The Career Peer program appealed to me because I have been in the same position as many of the students we aim to help. I began my undergraduate journey as a Biology/Pre-Med major and quickly realized that I did not want to be a doctor and really had no idea what I was doing. I came to the Career Development Center and spoke to an advisor to explore other options that suited my skill set and personality. I have since found the perfect major, am excited about my future career path, and now help students in the same position I was in.
What do you like most about working with students?
When I work with students, I look forward to hearing what they are passionate about and using that to direct them toward jobs and internships that will never seem like “work.”
It is okay to not know what you are doing and change your mind – your future is your choice! You will spend more time at your job in your lifetime than you will do anywhere else so it is absolutely crucial to love what you do.
