Membership Rates

Membership Prices for 
Academic School Year 2017 - 2018

Memberships to the Halas Recreation Center are available any time during scheduled facility hours.  Payment may be made by cash, check, credit card, or Rambler Bucks.  We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express.  A payroll deduction option is available to Loyola full time faculty and staff.

Remember to bring your current Loyola ID with you!  You MUST present a photo ID to enter Halas.  No exceptions!

  • Spring Semester is valid from January 8 to May 13, 2018.
  • Annual Memberships are valid for one calendar year from date of purchase.

Daily Memberships are also available for eligible members of the Loyola Community for $15.

These fees are valid until June 30, 2018.  Membership dates are subject to change with the academic calendar.  All rights reserved by the Department of Campus Recreation.  Proof of eligibility is required for any membership.  If you are uncertain about which eligibility category applies to you, check the table below or you may call the Halas Recreation Center office staff at 773-508-2602.

Refund Policy: If you would like to cancel your membership, you may receive a prorated refund less an Early Cancellation Fee as follows: $30 for a semester or summer membership and $75 for an annual membership. 

All Halas Recreation Center membership cards are the property of the Department of Campus Recreation, and are only valid with a current membership.  All Halas Recreation Center membership cards that are not current in membership should be returned to the department at the conclusion of the membership.  The department may retain cards of non-valid members, at its discretion.  There is a $20 replacement fee for a lost membership card.

Family Memberships

Family Memberships includes spouse, dependent children under 23 years of age, and Legally Domiciled Adult (LDA Eligibility Form must be on file with the Human Resources department BEFORE purchasing membership).  Dependent children are defined as those unmarried and under the age of 23 who are primarily financially dependent on their parent or parents for support.  Memberships for children end when they attain the age of 23.

Membership Eligibility

Full-Time Undergraduate Students

Full-Time Undergraduate Students, with 12 hours or more of hours, are automatically billed for semester memberships through the mandatory Student Development Fee.  In the summer, all enrolled Undergraduate Students have a membership through the Fee.

Part-Time Undergraduate Students

Part-Time Undergraduate Students, with fewer than 12 hours of hours, are eligible to purchase memberships.  (Part-Time Undergraduate Students are assessed a smaller Student Development Fee, but this fee does not include a membership to Halas.)  In the summer, all enrolled Undergraduate Students have a membership through the Fee.

Graduate Students

Graduate Students are eligible to purchase memberships.  (Graduate Students are assessed a smaller Student Development Fee, but this fee does not include a membership to Halas.)

Faculty and Staff

All current Loyola University Chicago Faculty and Staff are eligible to purchase memberships to the Halas Recreation Center.  A payroll deduction option is available to full time Loyola employees.

Jesuit Community Members

Clergy must be affiliated with Loyola University Chicago and verified through Loyola's Jesuit Community.

Alumni

Alumni must verify their status by producing a photo ID and either an Alumni Card (which can be obtained through the Campus Card office) or their original Loyola University Chicago, Mundelein College, or Mallinckrodt diploma—copies of diplomas are not acceptable.

Loyola Retirees

Retirees of Loyola University Chicago are eligible to purchase a membership to the Halas Recreation Center.
