Jesus said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit" (John 20:23b).
There are two routes for Loyola University students who desire to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.
- Students who are practicing Catholics who have been baptized in the Catholic Church and have received their first Holy Communion will attend several meetings for prayer and reflection on the Holy Spirit and the meaning of Confirmation. Classes will meet every week from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, March 12 through April 16 in Mundelein 617. Confirmation will be celebrated during the Great Vigil of Easter at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014.
- Students who have not been baptized in the Catholic Church or who have been baptized in the Catholic Church but never received their first Holy Communion will join other Loyola students for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, which begins in September, 2014. All of these students will be confirmed and receive their first Holy Communion at the Great Vigil of Easter in 2015.
