Community Service Program 2013

Dates: 8/19–8/22/2013

Cost: $125.00 (financial assistance available)

Sponsored by: Community Service & Action

Description: Join us for a few days of learning about and serving the community you will call home in your time at Loyola! Student leaders from the Office for Community Service and Action will guide you through a fun week filled with all sorts of activities. You'll have opportunities to volunteer at a variety of community agencies, tour the neighborhoods around campus, and reflect on how service will fit into your life as a Rambler, all while getting to know some of your new classmates and becoming masters of Chicago's public transportation. And of course, no experience of the neighborhood would be complete without sampling some of our incredible local restaurants!

"I liked how we were able to get acquainted with the Rogers Park/Edgewater community by touring, serving, and eating food from the various cultures. I also liked how the days were filled with activities, and that each of the service sites were vastly different and had tasks for 20-25 people. As an added bonus, the retreat allowed me to make a group of friends, know the campus and faculty/staff better, and reflect upon the role service plays in my life."
