Welcome to Loyola University Chicago's School of Continuing and Professional Studies! The following steps will help you become a more successful student. - Meet with an Academic Advisor
If you haven't done so already, meet with your academic advisor to discuss your course of study, receive an unofficial transcript evaluation, and determine courses for registration. Appointments can be made by calling 312.915.6501 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Order any Outstanding Official Transcripts
Request any outstanding high school and official college transcripts from every college or university attended previously. This way, we can document all appropriate transfer credit and provide more accurate advising. Mail official transcripts to:

- Register for Classes
Register for classes using Loyola's Online Connection to University Resources (LOCUS). Go to www.luc.edu/locus and log-on with your universal ID and password. Your universal ID and password will be emailed to you before registration opens. You are required to meet with your academic advisor BEFORE registering for classes.
- Get Your Loyola Campus Card (ID)
Once you have registered for classes, visit the Campus Card office to get your ID. The Campus Card office is located in the lobby of Corboy Law Center, 25 East Pearson. Their hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday. You need your Campus Card to access several buildings on the Water Tower Campus, as well as to use the university libraries and computer labs, to board the University shuttle, and to attend some University events.
- Learn about financing & payment options
There are multiple methods and arrangement for paying your tuition.
o To apply for university-based scholarships, you must submit the FAFSA. Learn more about scholarship opportunities for SCPS students! Visit for the most current information, applications, and deadlines.
o Payment plans, including those that will compliment your employer’s tuition reimbursement plan, can be arranged through the Office of the Bursar.
- Access your Loyola e-mail account
All Loyola students are issued a Loyola e-mail account. Loyola uses email as an official method of communication, and you are expected to respond and communicate through your Loyola e-mail account. Important information regarding your degree program and university announcements is sent to this account. Information on managing your account, including how to re-route your Loyola e-mail account to your personal e-mail account, can be found at http://www.luc.edu/its/email.shtml.
- Arrange for transportation & parking
Discount parking opportunities for various parking lots near the Water Tower Campus are available. Visit the Campus Safety’s Parking web site at http://www.luc.edu/parking for more information. The Water Tower Campus is also accessible via numerous Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) buses and trains. To learn more about using the CTA, visit www.yourcta.com or call 1-888-YOURCTA.
- Become familiar with the Water Tower Campus
Learn more about the services offered at the Water Tower Campus as well as the campus layout, which includes Baumhart Hall, Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) and retail stores like The Hershey Company. Visit our campus map guide to learn more.
- Purchase textbooks
Books for the School of Continuing and Professional Studies programs are sold at the Water Tower Campus Bookstore, located in Baumhart Residence Hall. For more information, including hours and book reservations, visit the University Book Store or call 312.915.7420.
- Visit the Loyola University Libraries
Visit http://libraries.luc.edu or call 312.915.6622 for information on library locations, hours, services, and tours. Tours and explanations of library resources can be arranged. Don’t forget to bring your ID for your visit!
- Attend campus events
There are many activities and events that may interest to you, including theater offerings, athletic events, and museum exhibits.
