Transforming health care, transforming lives
About us
The Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing prepares nurses to provide exceptional health care for all and help create a world free of health inequities. Grounded in the Jesuit tradition of care for the whole person, our nationally recognized degree and certificate programs develop nurses for the highest levels of clinical practice, leadership, and research. With two campuses in the vibrant city of Chicago, Loyola Nursing offers social justice-oriented undergraduate and graduate programs that educate compassionate, innovative, and diverse nurse leaders. Our curriculum prepares students to address the social determinants of health that hinder wellness for the most vulnerable, and our nurse scientists strive to change the lives of the patients and communities we serve through cutting-edge research.

For Re’Jahnique Matthews, nursing is more than a career—it’s a calling rooted in a deep commitment to equity, education, and community health. That calling, and Loyola Nursing's Jesuit values, made its Doctor of Nursing Practice program a perfect fit for her. “I had heard about Loyola from colleagues and friends who went there, and I really liked their values; social justice and ethics are so important to me,” she said. “My goal has always been to give back to my community through education and healthcare. The values aligned so perfectly.” Check out the full story on Matthews' transformative journey within Loyola Nursing's DNP program at https://bit.ly/41wLYfg
