A monthly newsletter sent to commuting students to keep them in the loop about commuter programs and upcoming student events.
Commuter Connect Program
Fall semester: Small monthly “fire-side chats” organized by zip codes. Connect students from the same zip code/neighborhoods and engage in small discussion groups to help students get to know each other from same area, ride share, meet ups, etc.
Spring semester: same group gatherings, but organized out in their neighborhoods rather than on-campus
Commuter Ambassadors Program
Paid internships for current undergraduate students to work with OCSL to develop new programs, but specifically to facilitate the Commuter Connect program.
Loyola University Chicago defines “resimuter” as students who are junior status or above and do not live in residence halls, but live alone or with friends/non-relatives within the University district (students who live within the zip codes of 60611, 60626 or 60660).
Off-Campus Student Life Seminars (spring term)
Prepares on-campus students for the off-campus transition and gives them tips to navigate leases, landlord relationships, etc.

OCSL is dedicated to serving, supporting and advocating for commuting and resimuting students. We are committed to working with students with concerns, pressing issues or special circumstances. We will customize outreach and connection opportunities for commuting students challenged by the collegiate transition; to enhance their sense of belonging and/or ensure resource access.
