Community outreach

Campus tours show students college is a real possibility

Thanks to Loyola’s School of Education and the Undergraduate Admission Office, roughly 200 eighth-graders have gotten a glimpse of university life. And, more importantly, they’ve now seen first-hand what a college education can do for them.

School of Education Commencement 2014

Graduates at this year’s commencement were given a challenge by Professor Grant (Med ’62) –“ It is the challenge(s) that awaits you as educators and my love for the City about which Carl Sandburg writes “Come and show me another city with lifted head singing so proud to be alive… and strong…” that I want to direct my remark and ask: What ‘verse’ will you contributed to your students’ education and lives." Dean Dantley Takes Leadership Role in AERA

Dr. Michael Dantley, School of Education Dean and Professor, has been elected the Vice President of Division A: Administration, Organization and Leadership of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) for the next three years, beginning the 2014-2015 academic year.
